We had a total of 17 hearty souls turn out for our Calf through Marsters hike of the North Umpqua Trail. 4 newbies were welcomed on this hike and we hope to see them continue to come out and hike with us. We also had one 4 legged friend join us on this trip.
This section of trail is quite rocky with an undulating sort of elevation changes. Both sections follow right next to the river most of the way and affords some wonderful river views also this day they were sunny views, although we were in the shade most of the time. We had 2 hike only the 3.7 mile section of the Calf part of the trail and another opt to hike the Marsters section on the road instead of the tricky rocky trail. We try to offer options on most of the hikes so people feel comfortable doing what they feel they can do.
Someone had done a wonderful job doing trail maintenance on these sections of the N.U.T. and we would like to give them a big "THANK YOU".
